In Some Ques Of Current Electricity It's Given that -"...a battery of 2v is connected to a wire..." And In Some Ques It's Given That -"...a potential difference is applied at the ends of the wire..." . So What's The Difference Between These Two Lines.

in both the questions the meaning is same if a battery of 2 volt is connected to wire means there is a potential difference of 2 volt across the wire and it is similar to potential difference applied to the ends of the wire
