Robert Gabriel Mugabe is a Zimbabwean revolutionary and politician who served as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987 and then as President from 1987 to 2017
He had a good grip among people but, yet, he maipulated elections.
He adopted rigging campaign veey well in advance even before the actual election date was officially announced. You can take rigging as synonym to like match fixing in cricket.
He exercised very effective control over the media. For general people news appeaed to be telecast about all contesting parties, but 90 percentage importance was given to Robert Mugabe and his party.
All those attempts kept him in power for so long.
