In spite of breathing out carbon dioxide in a large amount and released by combustion, the atmosphere has mere fraction of CO2 only. Why?

This is because of the following reasons: 1. It is fixed not the atmosphere through the natura process of photosynthesis 2. It is dissolved in the shells of marine animals Thus, the percentage is mere and constant as it is renewed and recycled very often though a natural process. And because of photosynthesis of plants which maintain a constant balance.

As the amount f CO2 in our atmosphere is fixed in 2 ways

1: Green plants uses carbon dioxide t make glucose

2: Some marine animals use carbon dissolved in sea water to make there shells
