Subration is not associative for rational numbers.
a-(b-c)not equal to (a-b)-c
For example
a=1 b=2 c=3
LHS= 1-(2-3)
= 1- (-1)
=2
RHS=(1-2)-3
=(-1)-3
=(-4)
LHS is not equal to RHS

Hope it will help you
