In such numbers which are divisible by 5 and also those which have 5 as one of the digits are eliminated from the number 1 to 60,how many numbers would remain?

the eleminated numbers are

5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60

Only 40 numbers would remain in the list.

1) Since, we have to delete all the numbers containing 5 we would delete 50-59 i.e 10 numbers.

2) The remaining numbers would be 1-49 and 60

3) Now the multiples of 5 would be 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,60 i.e 10 numbers

4) Deleting them from the list gives 60-10-10= 40 numbers in the list.
