The different categories of taxonomic hierarchy are actually arranged in an increasing or decreasing order from the kingdom to species as well as vice verse.

The ascending order of taxonomic hierarchy is Kingdom, division, order, family, genus, class and species. In fact, species, it is the lowest rank in this hierarchy.

It has two different categories including intermediate and obligate. The obligate is strictly followed and range from the kingdom to species.

The intermediate are not strictly followed and these things are added in the obligate list.
