i.e Breaking stress =Breaking weight/Area
Breaking weight=breaking stress×Area
This shows that the breaking weight is directly proportional to area . Thus , to balance the heavier weight of elephant , the area of the legs should be thicker . Hence , Elephant has thicker legs (to prevent from breaking ) as compared to human beings to area .
