Answer:

(a) - option (ii) 20  field goals he make

(b) - option (i) 10 free throw goals he make

(c) - option (i) 50 is the total no. of points he scored

(d) - option (iii) 10 is the average no. of points per game

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:

Given , Wilt Chamberlain of the Phildelphia  Warriors made 30 baskets .

Some of baskets were free throws goals (worth 1 point ) and

some of baskets were field goals  (worth2 points )

Total numbers of goals we have 30

Let x be the number of free throw goals

So, no. of field goals will be (30-x)

Step1:

We have also given that , the no. of filed goals was 10 more than the number of free throws .

Therefore , (x+10)       (x is the no. of free throw goals)

⇒(x+10) = (30 - x)

⇒2x = 20

⇒ x= 10

There fore , he make 10  free throw goal

and   2x = 2× 10 = 20  , he make 20 field goals

Step2:

Total no. of free throw goals and field throw goal we have 10 and 20 .

But given that for each free throw  goals he worth  1 point and

for filed goals he worth 2 points for each goals .

∴ points in free throw goals = 10 × 1 = 10 points

and no. of points  in field goals = 20 × 2= 40

So , the total no. of points = 10+ 40 = 50 points

Step3:

We have total numbers of points = 50

and Wilt Chamberlain played 5 games

So, the average number of points per game = \frac{50}{5} = 10

Final answer :

Hence , (a) there are 20 field goals he make ,

             (b) there are 10 no. of free throw goals

            (c) 50 points he scored.

            (d) the average no. of points per game is 10
