When there would be no micro-organisms on the earth, the earth would become a heap of dead plants and animals. This is because micro-organisms decompose dead bodies of plants and animals. They replenish nutrients which are present in the ground. This helps plants' to get required nutrients. This in turn, gives higher yield. People get food from the edible materials produced by the plants.

when when a plant or animal dies it leaves behind nutrients and energy in the organic materials that form its body structure. microorganisms (decomposers) eventually converters all such organic matter into carbon dioxide and nutrients . This nutrients becomes a part of the soil. In this way the microorganisms clear the environment.
