oa squre = oc square + ac square

5 square= 3 square + ac square

25 =9 + ac square

25-9= ac square

under root 16 = ac

4 = ac

so ab = 4+4

= 8cm

Answer:

The length of chord ab is 8cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since OC is perpendicular to ab from the centre of the circle, it bisects the chord AB. And AC, OA and OC form a right triangle. From this, we can find AC, which comes out to be 4cm in length. Hence length of AB would be double of AC and is equal to 8cm.
