In the adjoing figure, point M, N and T are the midpoints of sides PQ, QR and PR

respectively. If PQ = 15cm, QR = 11cm and PR = 17cm, then find the lengths of MN

and MT.​

Answer:

We have, PM=15cm,NR=8cm,PQ=25cm and PR=20cm

Now, 

MQ=PQ−PM=25−15=10cm and PN=PR−NR=20−8=12cm

Hence, 

MQPM=1015=23

Also, 

NRPN=812=23

∴  MN∥QR      [ By converse proportionality theorem ]
