Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :

In ΔABD, ∠D = 90°

By Pythagoras theorem,

AB² = AD² + BD²

AB² = (12)² + (16)²

AB² = 144 + 256

AB = √400

AB = 20 cm.

Therefore :

Area of ΔABD = ½ × base × height

= ½ × 16 × 12 cm²

= 96 cm².

In ΔABC, the lengths of the sides are :

a = 52 cm

b = 48 cm

c = 20 cm

s  =  \frac{a + b + c}{2}

s =  \frac{52 + 48 + 20}{2}  \:  \: cm

s \:  = 60 \: cm.

By Heron's formula,

Area of ΔABC

 =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s -b)(s - c)}

 = \sqrt{60(60-52)(60 - 48)(60 - 20}

 =  \sqrt{60 \times 8 \times 12 \times 40}  \: cm ^{2}

 =  10 \sqrt{48 \times 48}  \:  \: cm ^{2}

 = 10 \times 48 \:  \: cm ^{2}

 = 480 \:  \: cm ^{2} .

Therefore :

The area of shaded region = area of ΔABC - area of ΔABD

=> 480 - 96 cm²

=> 384 cm².

Answer:

WHAT IS SCIENCE??Science, any system of knowledge that is concerned with the physical world and its phenomena and that entails unbiased observations and systematic experimentation. In general, a science involves a pursuit of knowledge covering general truths or the operations of fundamental laws.you should allow me to help you. (imperative)Here are some more examples of verbs in the imperative mood: Please be quiet. Let me help you. Go away!The cost of 2 kg of apples and 1kg of grapes on a day was found to be Rs.160. After a month, the cost of 4 kg of apples and 2 kg of grapes is Rs.300. Represent the situation algebraicallythe process by which green plants turn carbon dioxide and water into food using energy from sunlightx 65 55 45 35y 20 40 60 80Let the cost of 1 kg of apples be x and that of 1 kg be y

So the algebraic representation can be as follows:

2x+y=160

4x+2y=300⇒2x+y=150

The situation can be represented graphically by plotting these two equations.

2x+y=160⇒y=160−2x

 x 70 60 50 40 y=160−2x 20 40 60 802x+y=150⇒y=150−2x

 x 65 55 45 35 y=150−2x 20 40 60 80We can see that the lines do not intersect anywhere, i.e. they are parallel. Hence we can not arrive at a solution.
