Given :-

Length & Breadth of a photo frame are 35 cm and 25 cm

The cost of wooden strip is Rs. 75 per meter

Required to find :-

  • Find the length of the wooden strip required to frame the photograph ?

  • The total cost of strip required ?

Solution :-

Length of the photo frame = 35 cm

Breadth of the photo frame = 25 cm

We need to find the length of the wooden strip required .

So,

Here we need to apply a bit of logic.

Since,

For a photo frame we will construct the wooden frame along it's boundary .

So,

If we are able to calculate the total length of the boundary of the photo frame then we can find the total length of the wooden strip required .

Here,

Boundary can be written as the perimeter .

Because,

Perimeter is the sum of all it's sides .

Let's find the perimeter of the photo frame ;

We know that ;

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

This implies ;

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( 35 + 25 )

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( 60 )

Perimeter of the rectangle = 120 cm

Hence,

Length of the wooden strip required = 120 cm

Now,

we need to find the cost of wooden strip ;

Since,

It is mentioned that ;

Cost of wooden strip per meter = Rs. 75

So,

we need to convert the length of the wooden strip required from centi-meters to meters .

we know that ;

1 meter = 100 centi-meters

1 centi-meter = 1/100 meters

This implies ;

120 cm =

=> 120/100

=> 1.2 meters

Hence,

120 cm = 1.2 meters

At last ;

Cost of wooden strip of length 1.2 meters =

=> 1.2 x 75

=> 90

Hence,

Cost of the wooden strip of length 1.2 meters = Rs. 90

Therefore,

Length of the wooden strip required to frame the photograph = 120 cm ( or 1.2 meters )

Cost of the required wooden strip = Rs. 90

  • a) The length of the wooden strip required to frame a photograph .

  • b) If the cost of wooden strip is Rs.75 per meter, find the total cost of strip required for the frame .

\bigstar \sf{\purple{\underline{\underline{\blue{SOLUTION:-}}}}}

GIVEN :-

  • Length of photo frame = 35 cm
  • Breadth of photo frame = 25 cm

  • The cost of wooden strip per meter is Rs.75

The length of the wooden strip required to frame a photograph means the perimeter of the wooden strip .

FORMULA :-

\tt{\implies\:Perimeter\:=\:120\:cm\:}

♻️(a) Therefore, The length of the wooden strip required to frame a photograph is “120 cm” or “1.2 m”

(b) Now, to calculate the total cost of the strip required the frame .

☞ According to question, The cost of wooden strip per meter is “Rs. 75” .
