also,

BD= BC+ CD.... (2)

as AB= CD then,

AC= CD+ BC....(3)

hence,

in ∆ ABC and ∆ BFD

AC= BD.....(4).... from 1, 2 and 3

CE= BF... (5) ..... given

and,

angle ACE= angle DBF...

(6),

∆ABC= ∆BFD...... by SAS test of congruent triangles....(7)

(ii)

from (7),

AE= FD...... c.s.c.t[ corresponding sides of congruent triangles]
