In the adjoining figure, AB= 6 cm , BD = 3 cm and AD=BC If ABC is 90 degree, find AC.

by Pythagoras theorem

AD² = AB² + BD²

AD = √AB² + BD²

AD = 3√5 cm

AD = BC = 3√5 cm

AC = √AB² + BC²

AC = √81 = 9 cm
