Area of the shaded region = Area of the rectangle - Region A - Region B = Region C

Find the area of the rectangle:

Area = Length x Breadth

Area = 18 x 12 = 216 cm²

Find the area of the Triangle A:

Area = 1/2 x Base x Height

Area = 1/2 x 10 x 12 = 60 cm²

Find the area of the Triangle B:

Base = 18 - 10 = 8 cm

Height = 12 - 7 = 5cm

Area = 1/2 x Base x Height

Area = 1/2 x 8 x 5 = 20 cm²

Find the area of the Triangle C:

Area = 1/2 x Base x Height

Area = 1/2 x 18 x 7 = 63 cm²

Find the area of the shaded region:

Area = 216 - 60 - 20 - 63 = 73 cm²

Answer: Area of the shaded region is  73 cm²
