we know diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other

so,

2x + y = 9----------------------------1

3x - 2y = 17--------------------------2

from equation 1

y = 9 - 2x-----------------------------3

putting value of y in equa. 2

3x - 2(9 - 2x) = 17

3x - 18 + 4x = 17

7x = 35

x = 5

y = -1
