In the adjoining figure, AC = 15 cm, AB = 12 cm and BD = 8 cm. Find:
(a) the area of the triangle.
(b) the length of CE.

=120/2

(b) CE ⊥ AB

soCE is altitude

so area of

ΔABC=1/2*AB*CE

60=6CE

CE=60/6=10 cm
