here in triangle ABD and CBD, it seems like they are an isosceles triangles because two sides of these triangles are equal,

therefore adjacent angles are also congruent.

in triangle ABD

∠DAB = ∠ADB = 30°

(isosceles triangle)

∠DAB + ∠ADB + ∠ABD = 180°

_________(sum of measures of angles of triangle)

30° + 30° + ∠ABD = 180°

60° + ∠ABD = 180°

∠ABD = 180° - 60°= 120°

∠DBC + ∠ABD = 180°

_________________(linear pair)

∠DBC + = 180° - 120°

DBC = 60° = y

we know, DBC is an isosceles triangle, therefore

∠DBC = ∠BDC = 60°

BDC = z = 60°
