AOB will be straight line, if

∠AOC + ∠BOC= 180°

\sf\blue {∴ (3x + 20) + (4x - 36) = 180}

⟹(3x + 4x) + (  20 - 36)

⟹5x + ( - 16) = 180

⟹7 x - 16 = 180

⟹7x =  180 + 16

⟹7x = 196

\sf\red {⟹x =  \frac{196}{7}  = 28°}

Hence, x = 28° will make AOB a straight line.
