In the ancient period, the Gondwana land moved in the north direction and thereafter split into Europe, Asia, and North America.

Explanation:

  • Gondwana land broke up around ‘180 million years ago’. It split up into different landmasses which are known as South America, Antarctica, Australia, Africa, Asia, and the Arabian peninsula.
  • One half of Gondwana was the Pangaea supercontinent and the other part was called the Laurasia.
  • When the collision happened with the Eurasian plate it resulted in the formation of the ‘orogenic belt’ that leads to the creation of the Tibetan Plateau and the Himalaya mountains.
