In the answer for inheritance of X-linked genes, Madhav had shown carrier male. His answer was marked incorrect. Madhav was wondering why his marks were cut. Explain the reason.

The answer is incorrect because in case of male there is only one x chromosome.

Explanation:

  • XY is the sex chromosome which is present in case of male. As a result of this there can never be e a carrier male if the disease is x-linked. Aquaria can only be female. If the the X linked disease is present in the X chromosome of the male he suffers from the disease and he is never a carrier.
  • Hence an x-linked disease can have a female career because they have two X chromosome but never a male career
