In the arrangement shown in the figure all surfaces are frictionless, the masses of the block are m = 20kg and m2 = 30 kg. The accelerations of masses m, and m, will be if F = 180 N. A m m, -F

Answer:

F=ma

a m1  =  f/m  = 180 /20  =9m/s^2

am1  =9m/s^2

For mass m^2

 There would be no force on m^2 , there is only tension on m1  that is F because the pulley is ideal mass less and frictionless if there is friction between m1  and m2  then m2  would have acceleration but there is no friction so, acceleration of m2  will be zero.

am2  =0
