Concept:
The metallic ring is a good conductor of heat. So , when heat is applied at a point, heat gets transmitted to all parts of the metallic ring.
Due to the heat, the wax melts resulting in falling off the pins.
Since AB < AD , heat will reach point B much earlier as compared to point D. And it will reach point C at last.
So , wax will be first be melted at point B , then D and finally at C.
