In the atom of an element P, 3 electrons are present in the outermost shell. If it acquires noble gas configuration, then:


a) Will it gain or lose electron and how many?

b) What would be the charge on the ion so formed?​

They have 3 electrons in outer most shell..

a) it can do both loose or gain electrons to achieve noble gas configuration.

b) if it loose then it shows +3 charge and if it gain then it shows -3 charge.
