in the atom of element x, 6 electrons are present in outer shell.if it acquires noble gas configuration by accepting requisite no. of electrons,then what would be the charge of the ion so formed ?

If it has 6 electrons in its outermost she'll then it requires 2 more electrons to get the noble gas configuration.

So by accepting 2 electrons it will get a charge of -2.

So it will form x^-2.
