In the backwaters of Kerala, a boatman was rowing
a boat using a long pole of length 4.80 metres. When
he put the pole vertically into the water so that the
pole touched the ground under the water, 0.25 part
of
the pole was above the water level. What is the depth
of the water at that point?

SOLUTION

Total length of pole = 4.80 m

length of pole above the water level= 0.25 of the pole = 0.25 x 4.80 =1.20 m

length of the pole under the water = 4.80 - 1.20 =3.60 m

therefore depth of the water at point = 3.60 meter

hope it will help you
