In the case of insulators , forbidden energy gap between the conduction band and the valance band is high. and forbidden energy is more than 3eV for insulators . So, large amount of energy is required to move electrons from valance band to conduction band. So, if we increase the temperature, atoms of insulator vibrates and electrons moves from valance band to conduction band. Due to this conductivity of insulator increases. Since, resistivity decreases.

So, when we increase temperature in case of insulators , resistivity decreases and when we decrease the temperature , resistivity increases.
Hence, option (b) is correct
