In early days before industrial revolution started in England , the white coloured Moths were hidden better . The dark coloured moths were visible and were eaten by birds . But after the industrial revolution , the tree trunks and house roofs were covered in soot and dust . The Black coloured moths were hidden better and the white coloured moths were easily visible . The birds began to eat the white colour moths and the black coloured moths became dominant over the light coloured ones
