In the case of solving questions of mirror should we always take (-) if it is said that the object is kept in front of the mirror? What would be the image distance , is it (+) or (-) where will it lie?!

In case of solving of questions based on mirror follow as given :

1. Always take object distance from the mirror $\textbf{-ve }$.

2. If image forms at the same side of the mirror, then the distance of the image from the mirror be $\textbf{-ve }$.

3. If image forms behind the mirror, or you can say not on the object side, then you will take image distance to be $\textbf{+ve }$.
