In the chapter a "Baker From Goa" the narrator talks about his childhood in Goa and his found memories. Compare the childhood of "Bholi" with that of the narrator.

Bholi was always considered odd. Her huge disadvantage, aside from being a girl, we're the spots on her face. She had a horrible childhood with a lot of discrimination even from her family.

Whereas the narrator of "Baker from Goa" had a happy childhood. He was a boy and a sophisticated one too. He had it easy. Having fun, eating break bangles and having more fun was all that he had to do.
