Bholi was always considered odd. Her huge disadvantage, aside from being a girl, we're the spots on her face. She had a horrible childhood with a lot of discrimination even from her family.
Whereas the narrator of "Baker from Goa" had a happy childhood. He was a boy and a sophisticated one too. He had it easy. Having fun, eating break bangles and having more fun was all that he had to do.
