in the chapter trains by humyun kabir why are the children excited to see the trains?
Answers
There are no children in this poem
A child is sitting by the window of a train and enjoys the journey during various parts of the day.
In the first stanza, the trains that are running opposite to his train resembles like a huge elephants shadow because it doesn’t have lights, its dark, it has no doors or windows as it is a “goods train”
In the second stanza, the child sees a passenger train which comes like a flash of light and it looks like a marriage procession because it is well-lit and as it is moving fast, the train sways which looks like as if it is dancing and the whistle blown matches with the tune of train.
The child is on the whole feeling happy and becomes philosophical at the end by wondering where the train will finally rest. The rest here is thinking about the humans who run here and there and when death comes, where will the finally rest?
