Explanation:
(a) for series
- Req=R1+R2
- Req=2+4
- Req=6 Ohm
now,total resistance=1/6+1/6
- 1/Req=2/6
- Req=6/2
- Req=3 ohm
Total resistance is 3 ohm
(b)
R=3 ohm
V=6V
from ohms law V=I×R
V/R=I
6/3=I
2A=I
now ,
- p.D across 4 ohm
____________________________
R=4 ohm
I=2A
V=I×R
V=4×2
V=8V
- p.d across 2 ohm
____________________________
R=2 ohm
I=2A
V=I×R
V=2×2
V=4V
NOTE - in series combination current is same so we will take same current for both resistance
