Name the figure as shown in the attachment.

Now, the Current from the positive terminal (named as O), moves towards the point marked as G and then towards the point marked as C. If we see the path of current:-

  • The current divides its path at G, then at C. Thus, they are in parallel combination.
  • Now, the current travels without dividing from:

C A B

C D B

Thus, they are in a series combination.

  • The effective resistance:-

G E F: 5 + 5 = 10 Ohm

G H F: 5 + 5 = 10 Ohm

C A B: 5 + 5 = 10 Ohm

C D B: 5 + 5 = 10 Ohm

  • Overall resistance when all above four are in parallel combination:-

1/R = 4/10

R = 2.5 Ohm

V = 10 V [given]

I = V/R

=> I = 10/2.5

=> I = 4 A

Option (A) 4 A is right.
