Observation: On observing the given figure carefully, there is a thin wire which is tied between two iron nails and both the nails are attached with an electric circuit.

When the given circuit is closed then an electric current starts flowing in the circuit. Thin wire has very high resistance. On passing current it becomes hot and generates a large amount of heat and starts melting and at certain point breaks. After breaking of the thin wire the flow of current stops as the circuit is incomplete.

Result: In this observation thin wire has large resistance and act as a fuse wire in the circuit.
