Sand and husk can be separated by winnowing. The heavier particles of sand and lighter particles of husk can be easily separated by blowing air.

ii) For separating stalk from the mixture, we should follow the winnowing method as stalk is light and will blow away by air. Wheat and sugar can be separated by sieving because they are of different sizes.

iii) Mixture of water and petrol (oil) can be separated using separating funnel as water does not dissolve in petrol.

iv) Rice and salt can be separated by sieving as they are of different sizes.

v) Sand and salt can be mixed with water, as salt dissolves in water. Then sand can be separated by sedimentation and decantation followed by filtration because sand particles are heavier. After that using evaporation, common salt can be separated from the water.
