Timed out is a way of dismissing the incoming batsman.

Once a batsman gets out, next batsman must arrive at the crease within the stipulated time of 3 minutes.

If he arrives late, he is declared ' timed out' by the umpire.

No one has ever been dismissed under ' timed out' in International cricket till date.

Only 5 batsmen have been ' timed out' in 1st class cricket history.

Timed out is a method of dismissal in the sport of cricket. It occurs when an incoming batsman is not ready to play within three minutes of the previous batsman being out.. It is very rare to be out in such a fashion, and has never occurred in any international match.

Hope it helps
