If the earth stopped spinning the atmosphere will be still in motion with the earth's original speed that is 1100 mph. Due to this all the land masses will get detached from its bedrock it means all the buildings, trees etc will be swept away. If earth stopped spinning there will be permanent day or night time forever and there will be no tides occuring.
