The poem was written by Edward Lear. The poem is about a small duck who wishes to see the world and asks the help of a Kangaroo. The duck requests the kangaroo for a ride. The duck was very polite and so the Kangaroo could not refuse . However, the kangaroo hesitates, saying that the duck's feet are wet and so he may get sick, for which the duck responds and buys proper clothing. Thus the kangaroo was able to help the duck, to fulfill his wish. This shows that good intention is needed to help others.
