In the conversion of benzene to paranitrobenzaldehyde, can we convert benzene to benzaldehyde by gattermann Koch reaction and then carry out nitration reaction ?

here is your answer...

By methylation of benzene followed by chlorination and then reaction with aqueous KOH and then mild oxidation yields Benzaldehyde. There are several ways to convert benzene into benzaldehyde. - In this reaction, benzene is converted to benzaldehyde with the help of CHCl3 & NaOH.

Hello!

Except using Gatterman Koch reaction you can use other reactions too:

Etard reaction.

By methylation of benzene followed by chlorination and then reaction with aqueous KOH and then mild oxidation yields Benzaldehyde.
