In the determination of boiling of water, it is
advised to put the bulb of the thermometer above
the water rather than in water.why?​

· Because of super heating the water near the bottom of the flask is at a higher temperature than at surface of water. The thermometer measures higher temperature when the thermometer bulb is kept well below the surface of water.
