Reading of boiling point of water in the thermometer.

Explanation:

1. First put thermometer in container in which water is heated.

2. At time of heat supply to water, we see that reading of thermometer increased continuously.

3. Due to heat supply to water is equal to change in specific heat of water.

Means that on increasing heat supply, there also increase in specific heat of water. This is reason of increase in temperature.

4. After some time we see that water start to change in steam phase. But this is little large.

If we notice on thermometer, we see that reading of thermometer is not changing. This time is correct reading of boiling point of water.

5. At time of phase change heat given to water is converted into latent heat of water during this temperature of water is constant until whole water is converted into steam.
