Given :  triangle, ABC is similar to triangle XYZ. AB=3 BC=8 YZ=12 ZX=15

To Find : XY

Solution:

ΔABC  ≈ Δ XYZ

Ratio of corresponding sides of similar triangle is same

AB/XY  = BC/YZ  = AC/XZ

AB = 3

BC = 8

YZ = 12

3/XY  = 8/12

=> 3/XY  = 2/3

=> XY = 3 x  3/ 2

=> XY = 9/2

XY = 9/2
