In the displacement reaction is it compulsory for the compounds to be aqueous?
For example, FeSO4 is a salt, is a solutionised form of FeSO4 required to carry out a reaction?

Answer:

Yes mostly it is easy to carry displacement reactions with aqueous solutions.

Explanation:

In aqueous solutions the ions can move very easily and in displacement reaction a high reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal from its aqueous solution. So it will be easy and is necessary to carry displacement reaction in aqueous solution.

Hope it helps you!!!!
