In the double displacement reaction between
aqueous potassium iodide and aqueous lead nitrate, a
yellow precipitate of lead iodide is formed. While
performing the activity if lead nitrate is not available,

EXPLANATION -

Lead sulphate is insoluble, therefore it will not form an aqueous solution. Also, other salts, ammonium nitrate and potassium sulphate do not posses the lead ion, therefore lead iodide can not be formed using them.Therefore, lead acetate can be used in place of lead nitrate.
