The volume of the hydrogen gas collected will be double that of oxygen as the water moleulcule itself has hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio 2:1

if H2SO4 is not added the reaction will be slow.

Hope it helps

anode =oxygen

cathode = hydrogen

the gas volume collected at one electrode double than the other because 1 molecule of water contains 2:1 i.e 2 hydrogens with 1 oxygen makes one molecule of water.

when h2so4 is not added to the water there will be no formation of h2 and o2 gasses at cathode and anode as water doesnt conduct electricity
