Solution

Given:-

  • 4x + y = 3_____(1)
  • 5x - 4y = 5_______(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y

Explanation

Using Elimination Method

Multiply by 5 in equ (1) & 4 in equ(2)

  • 20x + 5y = 15________(3)
  • 20x - 16y = 20________(4)

Sub. equ(3) & equ(4)

==> 5y + 16y = 15 - 20

==> 21y = -5

==> y = -5/21

Keep Value of y in equ(3)

==> 20x + 5×(-5/21) = 15

==> 20x = 15 + 25/21

==> 20x = (15×21+25)/21

==> 20x = (315+25)/21

==> 20x = 340/21

==>x = 340/(21×20)

==> x = 17/21

Hence

  • Value od x = 17/21
  • Value of y = -5/21
