If the only possible value of x is -3 it means that the gievn equation is

(x+3)^2 = x^2 +6x + 9 = 0 --© whose root is -3

According to your equation

x^2 + mx + n = 0 --@

x^2 +6x + 9 = 0 --©

If we substitute the value for m and n we get

m=6

n=9

Hope it helps.

Answer:

m=6

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2+mx+n=0

and according to the question x=-3

(x+3)(x+3)

x^2+3x+3x+9

x^2+6x+9=0

m=6
