In the equilibrium SO2Cl2 is equilibrium with SO2 +Cl2 at 2000 K and 10atm pressure . %Cl2=%SO2= 40(by volume). Then Kp=8. How?

The correct option will be 8 atm.                      

                               Sulfuryl chloride ----------> sulfur dioxide + chlorine

at time= 0              100                                        0                               0

at equilibrium         20                                        40                             40

Pressure at eq .     2 atm                                   4 atm                        4 atm

K p = P (SO2) P (Cl2) / P (SO2Cl2)

K p = 4 X 4 / 2

K p = 8 atm
