Given : Sunil  releases a scale from rest in between the fingers and notices the scale to fall by a distance of 20 cm before being held by Sunil.

To Find : The reaction time of Sunil

Solution:

releases a scale from rest

u = 0 m/s

t = Reaction time = ?

S = 20 cm = 20/100 m = 0.2 m

a = g = 10 m/s²

Using

S = ut + (1/2) at²

=> 0.2 = 0 + (1/2) (10) t²

=> 0.2 = 5t²

=> t² = 0.04

=> t = 0.2

Hence reaction time of Sunil is 0.2 sec
